Emani Payne is an energetic city girl born and raised in sunny Southern California. Before catching the news bug Emani spent most of her life as a competitive dancer, classically trained in Ballet and numerous other dance styles.

During her teen years Emani realized how important giving a voice to the voiceless really was. From there, she took her passion of writing and storytelling to college majoring in Journalism/Political Science. During her sophomore year Emani won her first Emmy Award for her coverage of the Buffalo Soldiers.

After 4 years at the community News Station working as a Reporter and Anchor, Emani accepted her first MMJ job in Waco, Texas (DMA 87). After two years of hard work and many exclusive and national stories Emani was promoted to Evening Weekend Anchor/Lead Nightside Reporter. Grateful for all the lessons and experience learned over the past 4 years in Waco, Emani is now ready for her next challenge as a weekday News Anchor.
